About Attorney Jane Ho
Jane Ho was admitted to the Maryland bar in 1996 and opened the Law Offices of Jane Ho in Rockville, Maryland, in 2000. In three decades of practice, she has represented clients in civil, domestic, criminal, immigration, real estate and bankruptcy matters in state and federal courts.
Attorney Ho is a native speaker of both English and Mandarin Chinese and communicates directly with clients in either language. Growing up as a second-generation Chinese-American, she takes particular pride in giving voice to clients who might otherwise go unheard.
Before opening her own office, she practiced at Perkins Coie in Taipei, Taiwan (1997–1999), handling corporate, banking, cross-border merger and foreign-investment work, and then at the Washington, DC office of Piper, Marbury, Rudnick & Wolfe, where she practiced franchise and distribution law. In the fall of 2000 she left large-firm practice to serve clients directly in her own office.
Attorney Ho is also a licensed real estate broker in Maryland. Her practical knowledge of how residential and commercial transactions work complements her legal work for buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and investors.
In civil, criminal and immigration proceedings where court-appointed interpreters are used, she is able to recognize critical interpretation errors that an English-speaking judge and a Chinese-speaking client might not catch, and raise them so they can be corrected.
She was born in Bethesda, Maryland, and is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (B.S.F.S., 1992) and American University Washington College of Law (J.D., 1995).
